I’m Kate, a linguist and tutor from Petersfield, Hampshire, UK. I work with a team of tutors to offer tailored Portuguese language courses and help you reach your goals.
My teaching method is based on 15 years of experience working with individual students to find the approach that gets the best results.
Classes are dynamic and responsive, with a focus on expression and promoting a deep understanding of Portuguese.
Although lessons often feel fun and informal, you will progress very quickly, with a tailored programme designed to suit your learning style.
We offer private and group lessons for learners at all levels, in person (when possible) and via Zoom.

This course is for a small group and takes place over 8 weeks.
There is the option to continue next year and work towards a certificate, or just to learn for personal interest.

Our courses are designed for small groups of up to 5 participants to ensure a fun and productive learning environment for everyone.
Portuguese for GCSE and A-Level
For those looking to obtain a qualification in Portuguese, we offer full course programmes for GCSE and A-level, covering all of the literary, cultural and linguistic content that you will need to study.
You can enter for your exams with us as a private candidate, with a choice of 8 examination centres around the UK.
Portuguese for GCSE
Beginners and intermediate learners of Portuguese can take a 12-month course to prepare for the GCSE examinations.
Native speakers can also opt to enter for the qualification directly.
Beginner to A-Level (Super Intensive)
Students with no prior experience can opt for an intensive Fast Track programme to move from "beginner" to "fluent speaker".
There is an option to follow the course for 9 months and enter for the GCSE qualification, or continue for the full 18 months and take the A-level exam.
This course is also suitable for those preparing for Portuguese citizenship applications.
Fast-Track A-Level (Intensive)
Those with a GCSE or equivalent experience with the Portuguese language can follow a 12-month programme to prepare for the A-level examination.

Originally from Petersfield, Kate studied Medieval and Modern Languages at St John's College, Oxford.
Having started her teaching career as Lecturer of English for the Government of Andorra, she has since tutored private clients around Europe, as well as lecturing in schools and colleges.
Kate has spent time living and working in Portugal, particularly in Lisbon and Porto, and returned to Petersfield in 2018 to open a dedicated language centre.

Sefora is a highly-qualified linguist and education specialist.
Having completed degrees in Education and History at the University of Brasília, Sefora has served as an education consultant at the highest levels in the UK and Brazil.
She has also been a member of GCSE and A-level examination boards for the assessment of Portuguese as a Foreign Language in the UK.
I'm looking to buy a house in the Algarve and had struggled to find a good Portuguese tutor in Petersfield.
Kate not only took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted, but has developed a fascinating series of Portuguese lessons for me based around the process of house hunting and moving to Portugal. I started my lessons in April and am finding them absolutely excellent.
